Geophysical Bore-hole Logging
Rockwater has in-house capability for down-hole geophysical logging, offering the most comprehensive array of groundwater logging tools of any comparable group in Western Australia.
Our company offers a complete geophysical service including data acquisition, interpretation and presentation using modern equipment and up to date computer software. All results are assessed and reported by an experienced groundwater professional, and are readily incorporated into our drilling programmes to ensure optimum bore construction is achieved.
Available tools and equipment
- Gamma-ray (used to identify clean sands in a sedimentary aquifer)
- Resistivity - point, long-normals and short-normals (used to estimate groundwater salinity)
- SP
- Caliper (used to check bore-hole stability and hole diameter)
- Neutron (used to test moisture content in the unsaturated zone)
- Gamma-gamma density (used to estimate aquifer density and porosity)
- Temperature (used to identify suitable geothermal resources)
- Analytical Software
