Rockwater has been providing geophysical consulting services to the groundwater industry for more than 30 years.

 

Our experience ranges from complete project management to individual services, supported by alliances and sub-consultancy arrangements. Selected applications include:

 

Downhole Geophysics

- Geophysical logging of numerous deep water supply and geothermal boreholes using resistivity, natural gamma, temperature, caliper and flow meter tools. Examples of deep surveys (>1,000 m depth) include Beatty Park Leisure Centre, Hale School and Sty Hilda's Anglican School for Girls geothermal projects in the Perth Basin, and Coral Bay Caravan Park water supply bore in the Carnarvon Basin.

 

- Induction logging of shallow monitoring bores at Albany and Jurien Bay to define the fresh-water – sea water interface.

 

Surface Geophysics

- Definition of the depth to bedrock and palaeochannel extent using TEM methods at the Windimurra Vanadium mine.

 

- Identification of fault structures along a 130 km section of road from Marble Bar to the Woodie Woodie Manganese mine, using VLF-EM and ground proton magnetic techniques.

 

- Mapping a saline contamination plume using EM surveys at the Lawlers gold mine.

 

- Definition and mapping of a major fault in the Yarragadee Formation for Busselton Water using surface geophysics.

 

- Definition of the depth and dip of a major aquitard within the Yarragadee Formation at Eneabba using surface geophysics.
