Geophysical Surveys
Rockwater routinely employs geophysical surveying techniques for the characterisation of the subsurface and groundwater environments.
Time domain electromagnetic (TEM) and frequency domain electromagnetic (FEM) surveys are particularly suited to the identification and location of palaeochannel aquifers and for use in environmental studies, including mapping of contaminant plumes, salinity distribution and the location of buried waste.
Our company offers a complete geophysical service including data acquisition, interpretation and presentation using modern equipment and up to date computer software. All results are assessed and reported by an experienced groundwater professional, and are readily incorporated into our hydrogeological assessment and exploration drilling programmes.
Available tools and equipment
- TEM (used to identify and locate palaeochannel aquifers and profile groundwater salinity)
- FEM
- VLFEM (used in locating fault structures in hard-rock aquifers)
- DC resistivity
- Gravity
- Ground magnetic
