GERALDTON MAR SCHEMEManaged aquifer recharge of treated waste-water

Where?
Geraldton, Western Australia
What?
Managed aquifer recharge of treated waste-water
When?
2018-2020

THE PROJECT

The City of Greater Geraldton needed to formalise licensing of recovered wastewater for the irrigation of public open space.  A significant increase in allocation from the Superficial Aquifer or deeper aquifers was not possible.

Approval was sought from the Department of Health for the City to use water supplied by the Water Corporation that had been recovered from around the Geraldton No. 2 Waste Water Treatment Plant.
