Martin Pujol shares his experience using Feflow modelling software

Our Senior Geothermal Hydrogeologist Martin Pujol was recently interviewed by the DHI team; the software developer behind the industry-leading Feflow groundwater modelling software. In the video Martin talks about his recent salt water intrusion project as well as his experience with working with DHI and using DHI’s FEFLOW software for groundwater modelling. DHI shared it globally with DHI contacts and social media.

Let’s celebrate our long partnership with Busselton Water !

Rockwater is celebrating a 40 year partnership with Busselton Water. Last week our Senior Hydrogeologist Martin Pujol presented the results of a nine-month groundwater modelling project aimed at maintained the current high quality water supply and service in Dunsborough and Busselton over the next 30 years.

A state-of-the-art FEFLOW model (by DHI) was used to assess the long-term impact of climate change and future abstraction on the 800 m deep water supply bores operated by Busselton Water.

The model incorporates density driven flow and was calibrated against both heads and salinity data from 1980 to present. The model was based on a robust geological model built in Leapfrog (by Seequent) which incorporated recent reprocessed seismic datasets in the Bunbury Trough.

One of our Geothermal projects story gets to be published in 2020!

For the last edition (May/April), the Australian Drilling magazine decided to publish an article about the surge in an important type of Geothermal application in Australia.

Rockwater Principal Hydrogeologist Ian Brandes de Roos wrote himself the article, using specifically the example of one of Rockwater’s Geothermal project: the Latrobe City Council – Geothermal Heating Project.

If you want to read more about similar projects or drilling projects, the magazine gives great insights on New Zealander and Australian projects.
